Generation 1, Part 4

I just want to mention that I wanted to try out putting all speech onto the picture's instead of in text, however half the files didn't work and I'm not sure I'm going to keep them so pretend they're not there.

Another Friday for Martin Swick, after last nights exciting adventure at Euge's even another night in a ditch sounds like fun.
Martin opened his half stocked fridge and went to the cereal shelf, the most important shelf! It contains all the premade cereal you could ever need.
He once again sat on the bath tub, shoveling spoonful after spoonful of cereal into his mouth, with one thought constantly shadowing his mind.
He moved over to the dresser, let out a big sigh and got a big case out from under it.
You see, today they start filming on the GPod film, and Martin plays one of the race of Irving. And did I mention the film studio was rather cheap.
An hour on and Martin, alerted by the deafening horn of the carpool, stepped out of his house onto his small porch.
He glanced around the area to make sure the smallest amount of people possible could see him like that before making his way towards the car.
Knowing he was late, he tried the best run he could, of course, with the suit being so tight and thin, he could barely manage a light jog.
Only 12 Minutes late, should be bad but thats actually quite good for Martin. Despite the suit, he was still extremely excited, ever since he was a boy he had dreamed of being in the movies and while when he was 11 he dreamed of being in a Jim Bund flick walking away from an explosion with a beautiful woman by his side, this worked too.
They mainly did the scene's that would be coolest to show in the trailer first, which luckily, one of them featured him. It was a scene where the Irving's first discover the human spacecraft from atop the "Nix Tower"
Things went pretty well on set that day, the director didn't have too much to shout at Martin for as he actually put his full attention into this. During rehearsals Martin didn't, as you say, put 100% into what he was doing, but now he knew this was his chance to become recognized and that he needed to 'act his heart out'.
Dressed like The Incredible Hulk's unimpressive cousin, Martin got back to his home around and headed for bed

Around 5 in the morning Martin awoke, surprised he actually managed to go to bed at a time which left him ready to do things in the morning

Happily, Martin looked around the room to discover that his new sofa had arrived. He stuck a table he found in the middle of the road in front of it and redecorating was done.

Everything was going well for Martin, he had a notable part in an upcoming movie, a nice house and now a sofa. Nothing could spoil this for him...
Burnt waffles...
Burnt waffles...
Burnt waffles...
Burnt waffles.
So... Martin made his generic cereal and brought it to his sofa. It was definitely more comfortable than the mattress on boxes but it had less character.
See! Everything is fine now, the sun is shining the birds are singing and...
*My Swick-y senses are tingling!*
GOD DAMN SINK!
Look, its not that big of a deal, sinks don't take that much to fix...
Well, not too much...
Okay, they take a while. But moppings easy...

See, all done. Everything is good and...
BLOCKED TOILET!
If you haven't guessed already, Martin is hot headed. This means that if anything goes wrong he will get mad over it. I think its time to get you out of the house, less things can break there.
Maybe he needs to do something smart, or maybe just something that will make him look smart...
Martin ran past several pigeons into Bridgeport's Book store, a place he had never been to before for reasons some might consider obvious.
He found the perfect book "GPod", It would help him understand the story better, get into character and, most importantly, make him look smarter than he actually is.
He then found a gem rock. He sold it and got a couple of hundred simoleons for it, which would be great, but all it really did was pay for his book. Why are books so expensive?
Now to unwind with some therapeutic, loud dance music. He went to the local dance club entitled "The Grind". Martin never got why people liked to refer to some dancing as grinding, made him think of rubbing two rocks together. groovy?
There was a woman stood outside the bar having a cigarette that at the first sight of Martin rushed towards him.Understandably, he panicked and dashed into the club.
Awkwardly, they both stopped at the stairs, Martin could hear her breathing down his neck. At this point, he realised she probably wasn't chasing him but instead also going into the club.
He carefully stepped up the four small steps
waited for her to pass then went into the building.

Ahh. She was the bartender, then why was she outside...
Oh... Okay... The club's entirely empty... well..
There was no way this could stop Martin.

Lets kick it up a notch!

This place was kickin'. Why was no one here?
The machine shot lazers
and fire!
Somewhere in the distance, he could hear muffled screams of someone shouting something like "ITS NOT MEANT TO DO THAT!", but he was having too much fun to notice.
After all that dancing, Martin sat down. He had never moved that much in a long time. He opened up and started reading GPod. He was instantly drawn into the exciting and interesting world that it had created in heavy detail for just words on a screen, he wondered why he never read before.
After that, he headed to the local diner, this looked to be the place where everyone was at.
This is why no one was at the club, this is the place to go. He even saw a few of his actor 'friends' from work.
But someone he didn't recognize was a girl in the corner reading the sign. He immediately took an interest in her and they both shared a common interest: "Reading!" (That and wearing sunglasses in the dark)
They both immediately struck up... almost no conversation at all. It was pretty awkward, he never even asked for her name.
While she looked 'good' conversation was thin and she was like a female version of him, only somehow dumber. She wasn't interested either.
Oh well. Looks like that sleazy guy at the back will have better luck.
Martin slouched up the steps up to his house and before rushing in and immediately sleeping he looked in his mail and found a poster... it was the promotional poster for the GPod movie: The Galactic Fall, and suprisingly, he was on it!

  1. I actually liked the pictures with text in them or at least I like it when the author makes up conversation

    1. Yeah, to me they were good on paper but when I did them all the dialogue seemed a little too goofy for conveying the story and I couldn't have big conversations in the small lines you'd have to do.

They'll never replace written conversations amongst the picture's descriptions but now you've reminded me of them, I think I could use them for small, goofy, unimportant lines which could be good or funny to add but unimportant for the story, so maybe I'll give them another chance, thanks!
